TANKS FOR OIL STORAGE
Oil production assumes its further transportation and storage, for this, interested organizations need special containers for its storage.
Seasonal fluctuations in the use of oil increase the demand for such tanks – storage tanks for oil, to which there are special requirements. Since significant amounts of oil create the danger of a fire, regulations have been established for its transportation and storage.
STORAGE OF MAZUT
Mazut oil is considered one of the most popular fuel materials, so storing mazut oil is an urgent problem for many organizations. It should be noted that mazut oil during storage inevitably undergoes certain physicochemical changes and mechanical contamination, so its storage requires the availability of quality equipment.
Despite the general low degree of evaporation, with time, when the light hydrocarbons evaporate, the viscosity of the fuel and the temperature of its flash increase. As a result of storage, the water content in the fuel can also increase significantly, due to condensate and steam entering due to malfunction of the fuel oil heaters.
STORAGE OF DIESEL FUEL: SHELF LIFE, STORAGE CAPACITY, RULES
Diesel oil is used everywhere, especially in winter, so storage of diesel fuel can be produced both by enterprises and individuals. Due to the fact that diesel fuel ignites very quickly, when storing it, it is necessary to strictly observe the rules for storage of diesel fuel.
One of the requirements of these rules is the inadmissibility of storing diesel fuel on the staircases of residential buildings, in cellars and in rooms in which there are no windows. If the diesel fuel is stored in an open space, the container with fuel is protected by a fire shaft or wall.
STORAGE OF FUELS AND LUBRICANTS: THE RULES OF STORAGE CAPACITY
To ensure uninterrupted operation, many organizations require the creation of fuel stocks. Fuel is stored by many consumers who use it for heating. Therefore, the storage of petroleum products is of interest to all consumers of these materials. As fuel forms explosive mixtures with air during evaporation, this procedure is regulated by the state.
Storage of petroleum products is carried out at specialized enterprises (bases), industrial enterprises, gas stations, construction sites and other organizations. All organizations holding fuel and lubricants are required to have isolated storage facilities for fuel.
THE SHELF LIFE OF PETROL AND ITS PROPER STORAGE
In gasoline, stored for a long time, there are changes that can worsen its properties. First of all, this is due to the chemical oxidation processes occurring under the action of air. The storage of gasoline at tank farms is very different from the storage conditions at home, but even the best storage conditions for gasoline can not prevent these processes completely.
Even if all conditions are met, the shelf life of gasoline can not exceed 5 years. In addition to chemical changes that reduce the octane number of gasoline, gradual volatilization of low-boiling hydrocarbons occurs. This leads to the fact that leaded gasoline loses ethyl bromide, which removes lead from the combustion chamber, as a result of which a deposit is formed in the chamber.
